The HOLE Truth Project
El Paso
In Addition to making transparency accessible to anyone, we aim to demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach through releasing proof of our own success using the methods we are promoting including the process, the tools, and the records obtained.
Our flagship project and our first major investigative work in this regard is the HOLE Truth Project El paso. This project represents the culmination of over 8 months of dedicated records request, systems analysis, systems design, testing, debugging, and careful execution. This project started as a doctor's desire to understand the events surrounding the loss of his career. Dr. Herrmann soon realizzed that what happened to him was part of something much, much larger. He began requesting more records and has since uncovered evidence of massive corruption in this border city spanning virtually all aspects of government - and not just local government. Dr. Herrmann has documented efforts to conceal records across 9 individual government agencies including the Texas Attorney General's office, which is supposed to be the agency that enforces public records laws - Nope, apparently not in this case. The one thing connecting all of these seems to be in Dr. Herrmann's words -
" These agencies are used to doing the wrong thing, they're not afraid of sending an inncoent person to prison or ruining a doctor's career and harming their community's healthcare safety net. No, they're fine with that as long as they don't have to admit they might have made a mistake. And now ofcourse they want to hide or lose all the records of this. We're not going to let that happen"
